Starting Chain Multiple: Odd Number

Begin in second chain from hook

Row 1:

·  sc across

·  chain 1

·  turn

Row 2:

·  chain 3

·  insert hook into second chain from hook

·  pull up a loop (you now have 2 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into next chain

·  pull up a loop (you now have 3 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the first stitch

·  pull up a loop (you now have 4 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the next stitch

·  pull up a loop (you now have 5 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the next stitch

·  pull up a loop (you now have 6 loops on your hook)

·  yarn over

·  pull through all 6 loops

Edge Star Stitch completed

·  chain 1

·  insert hook into the “eye” of the previous star

·  pull up a loop (you now have 2 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the 2 “legs” of the previous star

·  pull up a loop (you now have 3 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the same stitch as the final pull up a loop from the previous star

·  pull up a loop (you now have 4 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the next open space

·  pull up a loop (you now have 5 loops on your hook)

·  insert hook into the next open space

·  pull up a loop (you now have 6 loops on your hook)

·  yarn over

·  pull through all 6 loops

Star Stitch completed

·  chain 1

·  repeat [star stitch, chain 1] across the row

·  there is no need for a turning chain

·  turn

Row 3:

·  sc across

·  chain 3

·  turn

Row 4:

·  edge star stitch

·  chain 1

·  repeat [star stitch, chain 1] across

·  there is no need for a turning chain

·  turn

Repeat rows 3-4 until desired height. Do not chain or turn at the end of the pattern.
