Prerequisites: sc, sc spike stitch
Starting Chain Multiple: Even Number
Begin in second chain from hook
Row 1:
· sc across
· chain 1
· turn
Row 2:
· sc across
· chain 1
· turn
Row 3:
· sc in the first stitch
· sc spike 2 rows below (this puts the stitch into the initial chain)
· repeat [sc, sc spike] across the row
· sc in final stitch
· chain 1
· turn
Row 4:
· sc in the first 2 stitches
· insert your hook from right to left in the two center legs of the spike stitches below and complete a single crochet from there


· repeat [sc, front leg sc] across the row
· sc in the final stitch
· chain 1
· turn
Row 5:
· sc spike in the first stitch
· sc in the second stitch
· repeat [sc spike, sc] across the row, make sure your spike stitch goes between the upside down “v” on the other side of the piece

· sc spike in the final stitch
· chain 1
· turn
Row 6:
· sc in the first stitch
· front leg sc next
· repeat [sc, front leg sc] across the row
· sc in the final stitch
· chain 1
· turn
Repeat rows 3-6 until desired height. Do not chain or turn at the end of the pattern.
